5 SEO trends that will lead in 2022 | Future of SEO
The trend of SEO is rapidly changing. Every day, Google and Microsoft Bing release fresh algorithm updates. These SEO improvements are being implemented to provide users with higher-quality content and the most relevant answers to their searches.
SEO experts must stay up to date on the latest trends in the field of Search Engine Optimization.
We've listed five SEO trends that will be essential in 2022. Let's understand these trends.
SEO trends for 2022
1. Google New Algorithm MUM (multitask unified model):
The MUM (multitask unified model) algorithm is a game-changing algorithm. As per Google’s Head of Search “Google's new Natural Language Processing Model is “1,000 times more powerful [than BERT] and can multitask in order to unlock information in new ways.”
MUM is capable of analyzing video, photos, and text at the same time and providing users with the appropriate results. Users do not have to conduct separate searches until they find the information they require. Let's look at an example to better understand MUM's capabilities:
A has a design with him, now he wants that design on his phone cover. To see how that design or pattern will look on his phone cover. He simply can take the picture of the design and search in google with keywords that this design on the Phone covers. And he will get the results of similar patterns and designs on the phone cover and then he can decide if he wants that design in his phone cover.
MUM with its AI model understands the user query and his intent and in place to show the general results it shows the customized results as per their conversational query.
2. Conversational Queries with LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications):
Voice search has been a favorite topic for us for a long time. We discuss with our Digital Marketing Agencies to work on VOICE SEO. As per PwC 2018, 71% of consumers prefer to use voice search to conduct a query. Now, what is different with LaMDA. As the name suggests, LaMDA will, unlike general chatbots answers, understand the user query as a normal human being and will answer in a conversational method.
3. Passage Ranking:
SEOs are quite busy ranking their websites’ pages in Google search. This practice is quite overwhelming. With Google’s passage ranking algorithm, now if your whole web page’s a single paragraph carries the answer of a user’s query, then that passage can rank. We usually say these rich results as 0 rankings. So, there are no special techniques that you have to follow for ranking your pages. Google Will understand the whole content of your web page and as per user query and the relevancy of your content will rank your passage.
Few things can be done, which are still unnecessary, like giving suitable headlines and making words bold or italic. Google’s page ranking algorithm will affect 7% of search queries. This is another trend for SEO that will lead to the future.
4. Page Experience:
After rolling out the page experience for mobile in July-August 2021, Google has announced the launching of page experience for Desktop as well.
With this update, core web vital and other page experience aspects such as HTTPS will remain the same for the Desktop version. Mobile-friendliness will be an aspect of the mobile page experience. This will surely not affect the desktop ranking factor.
So, for the better SEO, you can tell your website development company to take care the following part of the website:
LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)
FID (First Input Delay)
CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)
HTTPS Security
Absence of Intrusive Interstitials
These are the five trends that every SEO expert should think about and focus on in 2022. Aside from outstanding content, website structure will never go away. We must adapt our methods to the evolving SEO trends. We can rank our websites/webpages in Google or any other search engine if we keep the 2022 SEO trends in mind.
